Scott Writer
Mr. Writer co-founded
Bald Mountain Development in 1999. Prior to Bald Mountain
Development, he was, and remains, managing partner
of StillWater Preservation, LLC (SWP).
Writer’s career
in the real estate business began as a licensed broker
in 1984 specializing in sales and property management.
In 1989, he created his own development company and
over the course of the next six years designed, developed
and sold two successful low density subdivisions in
the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado.
In 1995, Mr. Writer accepted the position of Director of Development for the Hines Development Group. He was responsible for entitlements, community relations and infrastructure development for both the River Valley Ranch project - a 685 residential unit project in Carbondale, Colorado, and the Highlands Village project in Aspen.
As President of the
Carbondale Land Development Corporation, a real estate,
water rights and Transferable Development Rights entity,
Writer also developed several successful residential
projects in the Roaring Fork region.
In 1999, Mr. Writer became a principal in Four Peaks Development, an Aspen group, which was developing a Hyatt fractional ownership project, two high-end residential projects (one at the base of Aspen Mountain and one at the base of highlands), and a 19 unit affordable house complex - all located in Aspen, Colorado.
Mr. Writer is very
active in community volunteer work, including serving
as Chairman of the Aspen Recreation Center Advisory
Board, and President of the Mountain States Girls Hockey
League.
Since 1986, Writer
has maintained an active Colorado Real Estate License,
and has owned, or managed brokerage entities since
that time. He has a Bachelor Degree in Business from
the University of Colorado.
